Miami Beach
Miami Beach is known for its beaches, clubs and bars. It is also home to one of the most spectacular redesigns in modern architectural history. The bright pink, lavender and turquoise buildings that date from the 1920s make the Art Deco Historic district one of the most spectacular and largest areas on the US National Register of Historic Places.
Miami's modern avatar as a top-notch tourist destination owes itself to the protection and renovation of this district. The Deco district lies in the heart of funky South Beach dubbed SoBe by the locals. |
